This entry was not dated so I can only place it by the emails surrounding it when I was sorting through some old papers. While the emails were primarily a record of haiku exchanged while working at the court, I apparently had such a buildup of rage that even the ridicule of customers and coworkers in 17 syllables could not quell this particular expressive rant.
"When, in the course of human events, the methods for peaceful resolutions have been exhausted by a system that favors the financial rewards of the already rich over the fundamental necessities of individuals, whereby the laws have been structured to deny rights to men that are enjoyed by corporations, the only course of action that remains is violence. Peaceable assembly has proven to be useless in the face of avarice and contempt for justice. Where no attention is paid to the accumulation of wealth at the expense of the suffering masses, when power has been concentrated to the degree that any challenges to that power are systematically ignored or eliminated, the only way to reclaim our dignity is to forcibly wrestle it from the clutches of inhumane greed."
I assume it was at least prior to the 2008 election as that gave me hope for the first time in years. Looking back now I can at least be glad that I didn't do anything stupid enough to result in getting shot by police or arrested for something mundane and meaningless. As it stands now, I am more optimistic that the "Occupy Movement" has enough momentum to prove this rant to be incorrect. I hope.
Rambling thoughts collected in a single place to refer back to later. Or a place for people to commiserate.

No particular topic...
My discipline negates my creativity-or is it my lack thereof? The challenge does not seem any different now than it was in all the years past, which is to say that the challenge is how to harness the output of my pathologically analytical mind into some marketable resource. Attempts at novelization stall painfully close to the point of inception. Philosophical exercises work best within a dialectic model and inevitably veer into an area that requires research-a known enemy to any writer who struggles with getting all thoughts on paper in the first place. I have tried carving out time in sufficient chunks to make a point of some sort-but these chunks are often devoured by the internet.
This is a perfect example. This right here, what you are reading. Another example; my tendency to talk way too much, whether it be over a few beers with a friend on the weekend, with some students who are relying on me to be a positive influence on their study habits, or at the office with a like minded boss who would seemingly follow me into the rabbit hole of my mind if there wasn't work to do.
Jumping from topic to topic works well in conversation, but becomes problematic on the page. Is it really just a matter of getting over my distaste for recording all of my conversations like some journalist prepping for the scoop of the century? Getting over the self-consciousness associated with talking to myself for the benefit of a digital record of my thoughts? Maybe bluetooth is the answer-people will simply think I am on the phone, with another person who likes to have incredibly bizarre conversations at inappropriate times.
